2021 Nissan Rogue - Choosing Between the SL and Platinum Models

2021 Nissan Rogue - Choosing Between the SL and Platinum Models

The Nissan Rogue begins a new generation with the 2021. Completely redesigned from the ground up, the 2021 Rogue features new styling, a more powerful engine, a sleek interior, and a plethora of standard infotainment and safety features. The Rogue starts at $28,498 and is available in four model configurations.

What's New in the 2021 Rogue

Every appearance feature of the 2021 Nissan Rogue is new. A boxier front end gives it a more handsome and truck-like appearance over the previous version. The 2021 model is powered by the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, but it has increased in power to 181 horsepower and provides smoother handling and faster acceleration compared to the old version.

2021 Nissan Rogue SL vs Platinum Models

The top two models of the 2021 Nissan Rogue are the SL and Platinum. There is a $3,000 price difference between the two models, and several features are available in one model but not the other, and that can make or break a driver's decision.

Both models feature the same workings under the hood from the engine to the drivetrain and from the brakes to the suspension. They both include 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and have the same amount of interior passenger and cargo volume.

The real differences lie in the safety, comfort, and convenience areas.

2021 Nissan Rogue SL

The 2021 Nissan Rogue SL model is an upgrade over the lower SV model. The SL model adds leather-appointed seats, tri-zone automatic temperature control, and a dual panel panoramic moonroof to the Rogue's interior. On the exterior, the wheels are upgraded to 19 inches and a motion-activated liftgate makes it easier to access the cargo hold.

2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum

The Platinum version of the 2021 Nissan Rogue includes all the same features as the SL model but takes luxury one step further. All of Nissan's ProPILOT Assist technologies are present, including traffic sign recognition and front, rear, and side sonar.

Inside, luxurious upgrades include quilted semi-aniline leather-appointed seats. The dashboard becomes fully digital and a head-up display projects pertinent info on the windshield. The infotainment system increases in size to a 9-inch touchscreen and Bose premium sound system and adds wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay integration.

Both the SL and Platinum models of the 2021 Nissan Rogue are great choices, but the Platinum provides a lot of extra features for a few thousand dollars more. It is a great value for the money.
