2022 Nissan Kicks vs 2022 Hyundai Kona

If you have been looking for a new sporty crossover lately, you have probably noticed that there are several options available on the market today. However, none of them stand out among the crowd quite as much as the Nissan Kicks does.

The Nissan Kicks is a stylish and sporty compact SUV that offers exceptional interior space and a wide range of high-end features. To better illustrate just how impressive this vehicle truly is, we have decided to compare it to another highly popular model. Here is a look at how the 2022 Nissan Kicks compares to the 2022 Hyundai Kona.

What's New for 2022?

Both of these vehicles receive a few new updates. Here is a look at what new features are on both of these vehicles.

Nissan Kicks

This year, the Nissan Kicks does not receive too many changes. That is mainly due to the fact that the vehicle went through a major redesign for the 2021 model year. The 2021 Kicks replaced its old infotainment display with a new 8-inch touchscreen display that comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The rest of the interior had also been completely redesigned and features a new armrest for the front row as well as new air vents and silver-painted accents on the door trim.

The exterior had also received a wide range of upgrades. The body shape is mostly the same, however, it now sits on top of new 17-inch aluminum wheels. There is also a new larger grille, new front and rear bumpers, and new headlights and taillights.

Hyundai Kona

This year, the Kona has received several updates as well in order to make it a more worthy competitor to the Kicks. On the exterior, the Kona comes with a new, wider grille design and new exterior lighting elements.

On the interior, the Kona has also upgraded its infotainment display to feature a standard 8-inch touchscreen as well. There is also a wide range of available features that are offered this year which include an available wireless charging pad, digital instrument cluster, and heated seats.

Interior Comfort

Both the Kicks and the Kona offer a pleasantly designed and well-appointed interior. However, when it comes to interior cargo and passenger space, the Kicks offers more legroom for both front and backseat passengers. The Kicks also has a larger rear cargo area.

Safety Features

The 2022 Nissan Kicks comes with more standard driver-assist and safety features than the Kona offers. Some of the standard safety features that you can find on the 2022 Nissan Kicks include:

  • Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection
  • Blind Spot Warning
  • Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking
  • Blind Spot Warning Lane Departure Warning
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control

The 2022 Kona does offer some standard driver-assist technologies, including Lane Change Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist. However, other features, such as the Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are only available on higher trim levels.
