2022 Nissan Qashqai

Nissan has kept one of its best-selling and ever-reliable SUVs in the Qashqai. As much as it is a crossover vehicle, the Qashqai was designed on the line of a hatchback with a raised suspension and off-road capabilities.

It’s this ingenuity that has made the Qashqai a family favourite since its inception on the market in 2007, and it has inspired many carmakers to follow the same crossover design.

It boasts stunning looks that even your college kids will want to drive.

What’s New?

The 2022 Nissan Qashqai hasn’t gone through many changes as the Japanese car manufacturer decided to hold back the release of the third-generation Qashqai until next year in Canada.

The Qashqai continues with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque. You have an option of front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) on the standard trims Qashqai S and SV, and AWD is standard on the other trims.

You can get the 2022 Qashqai with a manual or automatic Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Exterior

Nissan continues with its slick designs and incorporates the new and more modern-looking LED headlights present on last year’s model. These come with an auto on/off feature and a daytime running feature.

You will get powered mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators, and to help you see better in colder weather, the outside mirrors are heated. And when you want to gaze at the night sky or catch some sun rays, the Qashqai’s power moonroof makes this possible.

Interior

The 2022 Nissan Qashqai is a family car, and, as such, it’s spacious and comfortable, accommodating all family members, young and old, for a fun-filled road trip.

The six-way power driver’s seat has a two-way lumbar setting, and the passenger’s seat is powered four ways. The two front seats are both heated, and there is an option for heated rear seats and ventilation for the front seats.

The Qashqai has a neat feature in the truck where you can store your luggage in a floor compartment and cover it with the floor to conceal your valuables. You can also use that same flip-up space to keep your cargo separate when you fold the back seats down to create extra room.

Technology And Safety Features

The infotainment system has a 7.0-inch colour display touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can also transfer your directions to the screen using Nissan’s Door To Door Navigation.

You can also use your phone to control certain features in your car using the remote access feature.

Some of the safety features you can expect to find in the Qashqai are;

  • Rear automatic braking.
  • Lane-departure warning.
  • Blind-spot warning.

Trims

There are four trims to look out for on the Qashqai. The Qashqai S and SV come in an FWD and AWD option, while the Qashqai SL and SL Platinum are only available in AWD.

Price

The Qashqai S FWD and AWD base models will cost you $24,933 and $26,298, respectively, while the SV FWD and AWD trims are priced at $27,298 and $29,298.

The SL is $32,448, and the top-spec SL Platinum has a $34,198 price tag.
